Percentage calculator with VAT and GST for Saudi Arabia, UAE and India

Work out a percentage of a number, find what percent one number is of another, calculate percentage increase or decrease, or add and subtract a percentage. The VAT / GST mode adds tax to a price or removes it from a tax-inclusive price, with Saudi Arabia at 15%, the UAE at 5% and India's GST slabs ready to pick.

Handy for invoices, quotes, discounts, price rises, salary changes and marketing reports where you compare one month with the next.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a percentage of a number?

Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 15% of 200 is 200 x 15 / 100 = 30.

How do I work out percentage change?

Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value and multiply by 100. Going from 80 to 100 is (100 - 80) / 80 x 100 = a 25% increase. A negative result is a decrease.

What is the VAT rate in Saudi Arabia?

The standard VAT rate in Saudi Arabia is 15%. It was raised from 5% in July 2020. Pick Saudi Arabia in the VAT / GST mode to add 15% to a price or take it out of a price that already includes it.

What is the VAT rate in the UAE?

The UAE charges 5% VAT, introduced on 1 January 2018. Some supplies are zero-rated or exempt.

What are the GST rates in India?

Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall into two slabs, 5% and 18%, with 40% for luxury and sin goods. Some items are nil rated, and gold and silver carry 3%. The calculator offers each slab and shows the CGST plus SGST split for sales inside one state or IGST for sales between states.

How do I remove VAT from a price that already includes it?

Divide the total by 1 plus the rate. For Saudi Arabia, 1,150 / 1.15 = 1,000, so the VAT is 150. Use 'Remove tax from a price' and the calculator does this for you.

Is this a tax advice tool?

No. It is a quick calculator. Rates change and some goods have special rates, so check with the tax authority or your accountant for invoices and returns.
